During the webinar, you will have the opportunity to test your knowledge on potable reuse research along with other students and young professionals in the water industry through interactive polls. Once you register, you will be entered in a raffle draw for a chance to win a prize!

Instructions and links to the event will be sent to registered attendees. To register, you must have an AWWA membership.

October 4th, 2017 event: Contamination and Effects of Plastic Debris in the Marine Environment

OWWA Oct 4th

Hello and welcome back to a new year!

You’re all invited to our first event featuring guest speaker Chelsea Rochman, marine ecologist and professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Rochman has been researching the sources, sinks and ecological implications of plastic debris in marine and freshwater habitats for the past decade. Her work brings her to traditional and non-traditional waste sites, from the world’s remote ocean “garbage patches” to wastewater treatment plants and landfills around the world.

Her presentation will review the contamination of plastic debris in marine ecosystems, the impacts of plastic debris and associated chemicals on animals and potential impacts to human health.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
